Koh-l-Noor Rapidograph pens have been used by
artists, architects, designers, engineers and hobbyists for over 30
years to produce precise, consistent ink lines for any
application.
Rapidograph pens from Koh-I-Noor, the only

standard and the top selling pens of their kind because of their proven
quality and reliability.
Why a Rapidograph pen?
The artist using a Rapidograph pen can create
pen-and-ink drawings that can have a depth and detail that is remarkably
photo like. Using a variety of basic inking techniques like stippling,
hatching and cross hatching, the artist is able to produce detailed,
beautiful pen-and-ink illustrations. Getting started is easy. All you
need are a Rapidograph pen, drawing ink, paper and your
creativity.
How to begin Rapidograph
art
Koh-l-Noor offers a choice of
Rapidograph' pens for the beginner or advanced artists. For beginners,
we suggest the rotring rapidograph because it is virtually
maintenance free. The unique, all-in-one ink cartridge/air channel is
discarded after ink is depleted. Pre-filled ink cartridges are available
in a variety of colors.
For the experienced artist, we
suggest the Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph offering the ultimate in versatility.
The refillable ink cartridge design permits the use of a wide variety of
drawing ink for any surface or application. The Koh-l-Noor Rapidograph
is also easy to clean and to maintain. Koh-l-Noor pens make for hours of
uninterrupted productive drawing time in the home, studio or
field.
Nib selection
Since most users of Rapidograph pens
require different nib sizes (line widths) for various projects,
Koh-I-Noor offers a range of nib sizes for all Rapidograph pens. A total
of total of thirteen sizes are available for the Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph,
and ten sizes are offered for the rotring rapidograph. The chart
shows the range of sizes and their corresponding line widths.
If you are selecting your first Rapidograph pen, we
suggest that you start with a 00 (.30mm) width. It is the most versatile
and widely used width for the beginning pen-and-ink artist. Other
popular sizes include 3xO (.25mm) and 4xO (.18mm). Both offer tremendous
possibilities to Rapidograph artists.
Nib selection is not only a matter of fine width,
but also a matter of choosing the correct nib type. Koh-I-Noor has three
types of point materials: stainless steel (for paper), jewel tip (for
smooth feel and long life on polyester film or paper), and tungsten
carbide (for long life on polyester film). One will be just right for
your needs.
To make Rapidograph pen selection easier, Koh-l-Noor
has a choice of set assortments for both the beginner and the advanced
pen-and-ink artist. The Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph 7-pen set contains the
most popular point sizes economically priced. Get-acquainted single
